Natural Oils and Their Anti-Aging Properties
The days seem to go by oh so much faster than they used to. As I find myself AND my skin “not getting any younger”, I’ve come to realize, based on a recent conversation with my naturally beautiful sister n’ law, that we can spend a lot of time and research, along with quite a bit of money trying to find the perfect (commercial) wrinkle creams. Not only can they be quite costly, the creams themselves can contain more harmful toxins than good benefits, and all the while, often not even doing what we bought them for in the first place. So, in light of this revelation, brought to me by my naturally beautiful sister n’ law, I’ve started on a mission to make and use my own natural anti-aging serums. There are several great websites to visit for information on natural products and oils with recipes to make your own at home. Here is the link to one of my favorites and it includes a wonderful article by Libby Baker with 5 Do-It-Yourself Anti-Aging Serums that contain natural oils to prevent and combat wrinkles.
My favorite so far is:
Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
This Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream recipe is thickened with beeswax, so if you choose not to use bee products, you can substitute with any of these natural waxes. In addition to rosehip and carrot seed oils, this cream uses apricot kernel oil. Apricot kernel oil is high in gamma linoleum acid, which helps balance moisture levels in the skin. It’s also full of vitamins A & E; both super skin rejuvenating. It’s easily absorbed and non-greasy.
I have used many OTC moisturizers in my time. This recipe makes my skin feel even better and no harmful toxins! They work for my naturally beautiful sister n’ law and now they are working for me.
